No Shortcut to Be Yourself, Self-Change Takes CourageA Transgender’s Monologue of Survival

This is Oda Norika, a biological Male yet proudly identifies herself as Female.

She is a transgender who dares to be different and to break with tradition,

An entrepreneur who accepts and affirms her uniqueness.

Self-identification has always been one’s lifelong issue to deal with.

Come and listen to Norika’s story on how she faced the pressures from the society, her inner struggles,

And how she chose to genuinely accept and embrace who she is.

Perhaps you can also find the courage to be yourself and retake the responsibility of your life!

After the lecture, you will:

  1. Have the chance to hear a different life story and to understand a transgender’s unique quest for self-discovery.
  2. Learn how to affirm your gender identity and gender expression when facing the pressures from your family and the society.
  3. Learn to be responsible for your own life; to know that “being yourself” means “choice” and “responsibility” rather than an act of selfishness or capriciousness.
